Bought a new JVC car stereo to the car since I'm going to use it for daily driving soon, not very time typical but very practical and have a discretely look. It has bluetooth so I can connect my cellphone to it, stream music or take my calls from it (you can see the microphone near the tachometer). I will mostly use the usb port to play music from a usb memory instead of using those old CD disks which where always laying around everywhere.
This blog is about my car, a Mercedes 280 SL from 1985. I am not a professional mechanic but have had some old cars through the years which had to be repaired from time to time. There is always small things that can be done on an old car like this one so I've created this blog so that other people can see what I'm doing (or what I shouldn't have done). Feel free to comment and please leave a little note that you've been here.

Fixed illumination of Temperature wheels and Fan-knobs
Fixed the "shiftstick" illumiation
Replaced the auto trans. "shift stick" illumination bulb, had a really hard time finding one . Visited almost every car-part vendor but none to be found.
Try Mercedes you think and that's what I did... They had one single bulb and couldn't get any more??? Fortunately I got one at least but since no more the be easily found around here I build one as spare using the old bulb and a high intense LED which is seen in the picture.
